"My People!"

"For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility" (Ephesians 2:14-16).

Christ has made a new people in himself, based not on ethnicity, ancestry, sex, or common interests. By his Holy Spirit he has taken former sinners - both Jews and Gentiles - and reconciled them both to God and to each other! Hallelujah!

In today's world, where each one has a side, a team, or a movement in which to belong, this biblical reality is of greatest value. I'll be blunt as to what I'm talking about:

I am on the conservative side of politics. This doesn't mean I agree with everything a Republican does or says or think that every Republican is a Christian, but I think the policies they put in place are the most reasonable and right.

I am on the traditional side of marriage; that is, marriage is between one man and one woman. There's simply no other biblical option.

I am on the law and order side of the current division in American cities. Justice must be upheld and that can only be done with a police force. Reform can and should happen, but not through violence. (In fact, the current violence in our cities has nothing to do with trying to solve racial inequalities; frankly, it is a Marxist revolution. Order must be restored.)

Honestly, I don't know how one can be a fruit-bearing Christian - someone born anew by the Holy Spirit - and be persuaded to support and affirm a majority of liberal policies, such as the abomination of same-sex union and transgender confusion, and the current evil, Marxist movements. Each of these ideas and movements is militantly opposed to God. (If you, dear reader, consider yourself a true believer, yet are still in support of aforementioned liberal actions and ideologies, then Romans 12:2 is for you: "Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world's thinking, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in Christ!")

Let me be equally clear and to the point: it concerns me, sometimes worries me and sometimes make me afraid, to think what my children will have to experience if Democrats (the ones of 2020) are "voted" to be in charge of our nation; it scares me to think what our cities and communities will be like if the Marxist movements succeed in bringing about their revolution.

Before I go on, let me assure you of something terrible: if the Marxist movements - which are hidden behind the BLM flag, the Antifa terrorist group, and other lesser known activist groups - succeed, it will be a terrible and bloody revolution. If they succeed, what we see on the news happening in Portland and other cities will happen across the land in widespread bloodshed. Study history and see for yourself. Humanity has seen this before and the results have always been catastrophic and evil. Tearing down God's created order and replacing it with devilish systems is never a good trade.

But I say all of this to make the cross of Christ that much sweeter!

If my political party fails and Democrats are elected into legislative, judicial, and executive offices...

If it becomes unlawful to say anything opposed to sexual perversion from our church pulpits...

If Marxist mobs violently rise to power and threaten every good freedom we have enjoyed for the past 250 years in America...

I still belong to a family, a group, a movement that will never be shaken!

Author and speaker Paul Washer recently spoke at Grace Community Church in California. (You can view the entire service here.) He was recounting his missionary visits all across the world - places like China, Africa, Europe, and South America. He was remembering the love that he feels toward another brother and sister in Christ, regardless of what they look like, what their background is, or anything else. And with passionate fervor he looked out across the crowd of thousands, unmasked worshippers, and declared: "These are my people! You are my people!"

And with chills and tears I rejoiced!

For whatever happens to my groups and affiliations on this earth, I have a remnant of faithful brothers and sisters around the world who love and serve and will give their lives (and have given their lives) for the risen Savior that has saved us! I have a group, an affiliation, a family that will never die and shall never fail! All because Jesus Christ, our elder brother - even the Lord of lords and the King of kings - died to bring you and me into his eternal family!

Brothers and sisters, let us pray for righteousness. Let us eagerly seek to do the good works that God would have us do. Let us vote for good candidates who acknowledge moral absolutes. Let us support our local police officers and our civil authorities. Let us preach the gospel to our families and our fellow countrymen! Let us never falter in our eternal hope, for we are members of ONE, unshakable, immovable, eternal kingdom, which the Lord Jesus Christ rules with love and justice, truth and righteousness, and without end! Amen and amen!

"While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But [Jesus] replied to the man who told him, 'Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?' And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother'" (Matthew 12:46-50).
